Interior Painting Tips for Homeowners

Clean surfaces with a tack cloth for flawless results. It can remove sawdust, wood shavings, and other debris with ease.

Invest in high-quality rollers to give you a better finish. Cheap rollers leave fuzz and lint on your walls, resulting in a rough finish that's hard to repair.

High-quality paint is a must if you want to get the best results. Cheap paints won't last that long, leaving you to redo more.

Use latex or nitrile gloves to keep your hands clean while painting.

Paint in dry weather. Humidity can cause drips and also slow your drying time.

Applying painter's tape with plastic sheeting already attached to the edge of all surfaces. This helps to avoid getting paint on surfaces that shouldn't be painted. Plus, the plastic sheet also creates a protected work area.

Paint from the top to the bottom. If you get any drips or splatters, correct them quickly. Pros paint right over their mistakes as they work their way down the wall.
